Activities at the Resource Centre

There’s something for everyone going on at the Resource Centre. We run over 36 hours of activities Monday to Friday, all supported by our wonderful volunteers.

We help people learn new skills, including how to use PCs in new or different ways. A lot of the modern world relies on smart phones, which can be really useful if your sight is poor: we have experts who can help you get up to speed. We can help you learn to cook, too, or for those who really need it, learn Braille.

There are lots of fun hobby activities as well from creative writing to music, to craft, to allotmenteering, with more being added.

To keep yourself healthy you need exercise, so we offer a range of options from walking to bowls to T’ai Chi to yoga and because we know how important it is, we are always looking for new ideas.

Sometimes just talking to others is all you need, so we have a great social group on Mondays, plus theatre trips and monthly groups.

We make a small charge for all our activity sessions: £5 per regular activity, with trips and outings at cost.

Have a look at our programme to see the full range and times. It will not always be possible to get you into a particular activity straight away, but we will do our best.
