How we Help

At Coventry Resource Centre for the Blind (CRCB), we provide specialist support services and activities for blind and partially sighted people, their families and carers. Our aim is to help people regain and maintain their independence.

We help anyone struggling with sight loss to learn new skills, stay active and have fun. Through our vibrant community, we encourage active participation to rebuild confidence and to reduce the impact of social isolation.

Our activities and services are supported by dedicated staff and volunteers, many of whom themselves have visual impairments.

We work closely with other organisations such as the Visual & Hearing Impairment Team at Coventry City Council, the University Hospital, as well as other charities and voluntary bodies in and around Coventry.

It couldn’t be easier to get the support you need: just call 024 7671 7522 to arrange to come in for a chat.

James' Story

Before I started coming, I hardly ever went out and didn’t have many friends. I was stuck at home most of the day. When I first went to the centre I was a bit quiet but they were very friendly. I started to use the computer to type poems about football but now I go four days a week for Monday Club, Creative Writing, Computing, the Walking group, Craft Club and Allotment Club. I’ve got really good friends now and we even go out together outside the centre. Things are much better than they were.
